ok, my head hurts now.
I was asked very politly, if I would come with some friends to the river drop them off, and meet them several hours downstream so they could go rafting. a couple of hours to myself on a beach? Sure!
we get there to find that the closest place we can get the truck to the water is a 10 minute hike away, and we are not hiking a 240LB zodiak that far, so we decide to sit on the sand bank and just relax anyways.
While waiting for the boys to go back up to the truck and bring down the coolers, and my beach towels, I'm standing about 4 feet in the water enjoying the scenery. Three ladies walk down to check out the river for some tubing later on, we have a nice little conversation about the river, and where the tubing pickup point is downstream.
now this river is in a provincial park, quite a gorgeous little forest and the hike down is obviouly through old growth that has never seen a saw. just before they left one of the ladies and I happened to be standing side by side admiring the beauty all around us when she said to me, " Kind of makes you wonder where they got all the trees."
the statement dumbfounded me so much I just stood there and stared at the water as they left to hike back up to their vehicle.
