Greetings everyone, I hope you are enjoying the holidays. I have been a member of the forums here for quite a while, and have seen them go from very active to dead. I am hoping to change that.

First of all I am hoping to see who is still active here? I know I logged in and did not see any active topics, so I set a goal to fix it.

Also since its 2010 now, I wanted to ask you all what can we do to revive the forums? Is there a different direction you want to try going?

I know this is the best group in gaming, that is why I joined in 2004.

well SA has always been my homepage, so I log in every time I near my pc.

activity comes and goes around here in an odd wave.... when we were a one game clan activity was insane, I found once we had too many games happening all at once, that is when activity dropped heavily.

Even when we are not posting, you will find that us old timers are here a lot, and those that are in here a lot are very attached to the characters and friends we made here. hence you will find, I will always be the fool, haunting the arena, Draccy is always the Amazon, and more than wiling to be found behind the bar, Silver is always the warrior found drunk in his chair.... it is a fond attachment.

Fantasy, Mythology, Adventure, and just plain fun was what brought all of us together in our original days of hundreds of posts a day on these boards, not just the game we all shared in common.

I think the lack of activity can be traced back to a change of environment. Most popular online games now have an online chat ability and gaming forums are falling into disuse all over. Its a global thing, not just us. There arent that many big WoW or GW forums either.

That said, I still come here for the people

I totally agree with Sil and Habz.

When online gaming and SA were in their infancy, most games needed some kind of forum and since there were only a few online mmo type games, it was alot easier to gain and keep members.

Now that there is a new MMO every week, coupled with the in-game chat systems (text and voice), there is more fragmentation to be seen than ever.

That being said, SA will always be my home while it's here and I'm in the land of the living and if we gain more members, sure that's a positive, but how to go about doing so when there are many real-world things that demand our attention, well theres a question thats hard to answer

Hell I have a hard time visiting this forum myself! Im just too busy and I simply forget! I am considering getting a tattoo with the SA logo though
